Lauren Ogden - Founder

Hi, I’m Lauren, the founder of Dolphin Tutors and an experienced tutor who has taught over 400 students in the past three years. With a BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Science from Cardiff University, four A-levels (Biology, Chemistry, Psychology, and Latin) and 11 GCSEs, I have the academic expertise and teaching experience to help students feel more confident, enjoy learning, and achieve their best results.

I know that every student’s goals are different - some want to build confidence and rediscover a love for learning, while others are striving for top exam grades. My approach is patient, adaptable and engaging, ensuring that lessons are tailored to individual needs - whether that’s breaking down complex topics, refining revision strategies, or boosting exam performance.

By making learning enjoyable and inspiring, I help students stay motivated, believe in their abilities, and reach their full potential - whatever their goals may be.

Alice Hake - Tutor

Hi I’m Alice, a Medical Engineering student at the University of Leeds with a strong academic background and a passion for helping students succeed. I achieved four A’s at A-level (Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Design Technology) and nine Grade 9s at GCSE, giving me a deep understanding of exam techniques and subject knowledge. I believe that every student learns differently, so I take a patient and adaptable approach, tailoring lessons to suit individual needs. Whether it’s breaking down tricky concepts, improving problem-solving skills, or building confidence, I make learning engaging and effective. Having taken a gap year in 2024 to travel around Australia and south-east Asia, I’ve gained valuable communication and problem-solving skills that help me connect with students and make lessons enjoyable. My goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions and reach their full potential.

Hi, I'm Matt, an Automotive Engineering student at Loughborough University. Having achieved 2 A*s in Maths and Physics and an A in Chemistry at A-level, along with 10 GCSEs, I believe I have a strong academic foundation and effective revision strategies to help students reach their full potential.

I believe every student is different, meaning they require different teaching methods. With experience tutoring all ages of students through my school, I am highly adaptable, open-minded and patient, ensuring my students feel supported and inspired to succeed.

Hi I’m Holly, a medical student at the University of East Anglia with a passion for helping students succeed. With a strong academic background, I achieved 2 A’s (Chemistry and Physics) and 2 A*s (Biology and Maths) at a level and nine grade 9 GCSEs, giving me the insight to effective revision and exam techniques.

Beyond academics, I have a keen interest in sports and enjoy staying active, which has helped me develop skills like resilience, teamwork and perseverance - qualities I bring into my tutoring. I also love to travel, and after spending time exploring the world in 2024, I’ve gained valuable adaptability, communication, and problem-solving skills that help me connect with students and make lessons engaging.

As a tutor, I create a calm and supportive learning environment where students feel confident to ask questions and develop their understanding at their own pace. I know that everyone learns differently, so I tailor each session to individual needs, using a variety of teaching styles to keep lessons interactive and enjoyable. Loulou Kane - Tutor

Hi I’m Loulou, a Biomedical Science student at the University of Leeds, with a passion for teaching and helping students to create the foundations for success. With excellent A levels in Biology, Psychology and PE, along with all 7s and 8s in GCSEs, I’ve built a strong background in academia and exam techniques.

Having taught as a qualified Ski instructor, I’ve seen firsthand how differently each student learns, so I tailor my lessons and communication style to build a positive and engaging learning environment where students can thrive.

My approach isn’t just about subject knowledge, I focus on building confidence, resilience and problem-solving skills that can benefit students well beyond the exam hall.
